Blurry Weekend Photo Recap 2: Stereogrove in Brighton, MA.

Introducing Stereogrove. Groove Rock. That’s what they call it. I’m not sure about that. True, it was the most-rocking base lines I’ve heard in years (and bassist voted to be most like a Mexican jumping bean) – along with vocals that were a captivating sound combination of hip hop, rock, and maybe a moment of folk punk and jazz. And kind of surprising comeing from a very unassuming looking red haired guy. In today’s world, you don’t need me to describe sounds – you can just click and listen and decide for yourself. Try here.
I’m usually a lyric-oriented listener, but this was way more about the noise for me. In fact, despite that I couldn’t recite a single lyric to you immediately following the show, I left feeling satisfied. It was good song after good song, with a packed house and an energetic crowd that was moving to the sounds.
Hoping to track these guys down for an interview. Here’s a video and some pics for now. Though in order to really recreate the live experience, you need to be in the dark, crowed with people, drinking your favorite Friday night beverage.
And just as a side note, ladies, if you’re wondering where all the guys are – the male to female ratio in Brighton was about 15:1. All age groups.
