January 16, 2011 No CommentsI’m a winner! Or, at least I was last Friday – I entered a contest by posting to The Providence Phoenix’s facebook wall and won “Fan Of The Week” – and my prize was a free ticket to the 2011 kick-off of Music Fridays at the RISD Museum.
This month featured a band named Sauce, featuring Chelsey Lau, winner of the Providence Phoenix 2009 Best Female Vocalist Award. High-energy funk, blues… 3 horns, a drum set, three stringed instruments. Lively. I liked the contrast of the old and the new and wondered what the old blokes would be thinking about what they were hearing and seeing.
