Most Underrated Chick with Guitar: Why I Love Charo
January 23, 2012 No Comments
I love how well she can cast a bull-figher-themed video; I love how if you close your eyes you’d never guess there was a petite, pouty-lipped, boobalicious, vivacious powerhouse of a little lady jammin’ on her classical guitar. This post exists for the sole purpose of reminding you that Charo lives. Actually, her real name is María del Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Gutiérrez de los Perales Santa Ana Romanguera y de la Hinojosa Rasten. Yea, Charo is a better stage name.
Charo is magical, sexy and comedic. And I’m pretty sure your doctor told you that you need a little more Charo in your days, because it lowers your “bad” cholesterol. Somehow she never makes any “girl guitar player” lists, and we think this is a tragic oversight.
Oh, and in case you are too young to remember her “Cuchi-Cuchi” bit, we’ve got that for you, too. And she’s still rockin’ the Cuchi-Chuchi at 72 or 62. (Birthdate disputed, but who cares?) Go Charo!
I’m not sure how I feel about Charo sans-guitar… but, hey, I’d like to think electronica dance numbers can be equal opportunity song-writing success for people of all ages.
